TAYLOR FROM IRELAND DNA TESTS
Y-DNA TESTS FOR THIS OHIO TAYLOR FAMILY: These two tests (below) are ONLY for the MALES in this family line. It covers both branches of this family from John Taylor's (from Ireland, b:1796) first son, William "Billy" (b: 1831) from his first wife, Charlotte M. SMITH, to his second wife, Rachel WOLFORD.
ALL MALES descending from these two families/lines will have the same Y-DNA (allele) numbers! Please check to see if you belong to this IRISH TAYLOR family line. You will have to have a Y-DNA test made with a minimum of 37 markers to compare results... CLICK HERE to see their prices. This is a special Y-DNA TAYLOR surname project and is through FamilyTree DNA.
A 37 marker test was made from William Howard "Bill" Taylor (b: 1930), who is descended from William's "Billy" first wife, Charlotte M. SMITH. This Y-DNA test was made through FamilyTree DNA in June 2005.
My (Bruce W. Taylor) 37 marker test was made in June, 2005 also. I am descended from William's "Billy" second wife, Rachel WOLFORD. William Howard "Bill" TAYLOR (above) is my Half 3rd Cousin, who passed away in 2009.
What the above and below information tells us, is that, our TAYLOR family (from Ohio) only has paperwork (from our family Bible: "Born in the County of of Fermanagh in Ireland on a Good Friday A.D. 1796.") and three (3) U.S. Census (1880, 1900 and 1910) showing that John TAYLOR was born in Ireland. Since we now have Y-DNA samples from both sides of our family, we can now confirm that our TAYLOR family came from Ireland. Also, the Y-DNA test confirms that we (these TAYLOR families) have a Haplotype of I ("I" as in ink), which means we came from the British Isles.
